L&Q Contract Nears Completion
London & Quadrant required a financially secure and trusted contractor to undertake works in a newly acquired and newly built block of flats in East London.
The main issue in undertaking this type of defect works was that many of the newly built properties were occupied, so it was imperative that L&Q found a competent contractor and one that was familiar with the difficulties of working within occupied properties.
‘Bring on Knapman & Sons’
We were requested to carry out general repair and remedial works to sixty four flats within the newly built blocks at Stratford in London valued at over half a million pounds. The works also consisted of specialist Fire Protection upgrades to the majority of the flats and flood damage works to some, along with a weekly property inspection and correction programme, to all uninhabited flats.
“All the works have been undertaken over a ten month time span, much of which was during the heightened security of the Olympic games, so getting to work every day was no easy feat and do you know something, I wasn’t late once!” said Gary Carman, site agent for Knapman’s and this L&Q project.
