Viridian Housing Contract

Viridian is a housing association that provides social housing to over 30,000 residents spanning across London and the south east, the Midlands and West Sussex.

Viridian have around 16,000 homes and work in partnership with local authorities, organisations and residents to create safe, sustainable communities. 

Their aim is to support their residents and help them to make the most of opportunities in their lives. Viridian provide:

• rented family housing
• homes for shared ownership
• care and supported homes for older and vulnerable people
• assisted living
• hostel accommodation
• student accommodation

Viridian’s programme of development expanded when approximately 100 properties were purchased early in 2011, adding their housing stock. The properties through south east London were mostly typical three to four bedroom semi detached houses in need to repair and refurbishment and a contractor was required that could ‘turn around’ a large amount of these properties in a short time.

Knapman & Sons (Builders) Ltd were successful in securing the contract and the majority of the properties are already being rented as social housing to the private market.
